You can enter your plea as outlined on your ticket (Section A-GUILTY Section B-NOT GUILTY) by sending to the court by postal mail or email to [email protected] or by fax 716-845-7288
Questions can be emailed to [email protected] you can also enter a plea of either guilty or not guilty via email. Small claims and Evictions are scheduled when filed. For information on small claims and evictions in NY: https://nycourts.gov/courthelp//diy/districtCityTVcourts.shtml Option 1
Enter a plea of NOT guilty (see above for how to enter a plea) and pursue a plea reduction via the District Attorney(INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER YOUR NOT GUILTY PLEA IS RECEIVED). You will need a copy of your driving record (obtainable from your DMV) and a copy of your ticket. After you receive an offer from the District Attorney you will need to send it to the court, if acceptable the judge will set the fine on your reduced charge. YOU WILL NOT NEED TO APPEAR IN PERSON IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION. Option 2
Plead Guilty as Charged. By pleading "Guilty" you waive your right to a trial. A Plea of Guilty is the same as being convicted at trial and will subject you to sentencing, by the judge presiding, to any legally authorized sentence. You must notify the court in writing that you wish to enter a plea of guilty. YOU WILL NOT NEED TO APPEAR IN PERSON IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION. Option 3
Plead Not Guilty and go to Trial with the officer who issued the ticket. THIS OPTION REQUIRES YOU TO APPEAR IN PERSON. Option 4
Hire an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of NY to represent you. YOU WILL NOT NEED TO APPEAR IN PERSON IF YOU CHOOSE THIS OPTION. |
